WW2 Kukri with white metal hilt

An aluminum Khukur

A nice little example of a "village kukri" with a white metal handle, probably aluminium or zinc alloy. Its provenance and handle construction makes me think that this example probably dates from around WW2.

The blade has some notches along the edge, and the sheath has split open along the inner edge, but is otherwise sound. Moreover, it still has its karda and chakmak by-knives and its tinder pouch. There are also sleeves for additional tools in the sheath.

Blade length: 33 cm

Overall length: 42.5 cm

Length in scabbard: 43.5 cm

Early 20th century
